"You're lying, I've been you" has to be one of the most heartbreaking
moments I've ever seen in a movie.

I so agree with you. Natalie Portman's delivery of that line alone was worth the price of admission.

What an amazing film. Brilliantly written and acted. And that Clive Owen? Damn, I didn't think he would outshine my Jude, but he did. He had the best dialogue, and what a fucking stud. Julia even impressed me in that argument scene with her and Clive.

The movie was superb, but in the same weekend I saw "Finding Neverland," I wonder if "Closer" will be a movie we want to remember. As I wrote at the time:

A good movie is not the same as a great tale. A great tale looks to the future with longing eyes. A great tale has grand lessons for the future told through the imagination of one looking to the future or through the story of one who lived in the past.

A good movie will not, in and of itself be remembered. The dark, empty, hopeless picture painted in "Closer" already in my mind is becoming lost in the bright, optimistic imaginings of "Finding Neverland."

I couldn't agree more. I just saw the movie last night and it was heartwrenching at points and liberating in a sense in others. Great site by the way.

History repeats itself. That's one thing wrong with history.
