[summer roadshow: cape cod to boston] 8:14 PM

We left New Market with Lucia in tow for Julie and Blacker's wedding in Cape Cod. Being that Boy had to work, I was tasked with driving, during which I realized my least favorite place to drive is New England. Roads never designed for mass transit and drivers never designed to drive makes a very frustrating erratic pace.

My general thinking of highway driving has always been that you keep the right, pass on the left, and maintain a speed between 5 and 10 miles over the speed limit. Those rules are thrown out the window when it comes to Massachusetts and its drivers known affectionately as "Mass Holes." It's stressful going with the flow of traffic when the flow of traffic is going 30 miles over the speed limit and MA state troopers are in a variety of unmarked cars like Mustangs, Chargers, and Denalis.

Driving on Cape Code was the inverse of highway driving - the speed limit was 45 and everyone was going 20 (or lower). Thankfully, the wedding was lovely and quite irreverent. The interfaith ceremony on the beach was routinely interrupted by passing jetskis, so much show that all one could do was laugh as Grandpa Rabbi went on obliviously.

The reception was a super buffet, and each table was adorned with a specialty cake as its centerpiece. Our was strawberry, and given the attention it got, apparently was the best of the bunch.

cake!

After the wedding, we left early the next morning for Northampton, MA to drop off Lucia at her friend Alex's house (home of new twins) and then headed to Boston, which I'll write more about later because I'm tired, and behind in blogging, and my laptop is starting to burn my lap since I have wifi for the first time in over a week.
