[summer roadshow: houston] 8:02 AM

It's been dark and stormy almost our entire time in Houston. It has been awesome. Ain't no thunderstorm like a Texas thunderstorm.

The rain delayed Katie and Alex's plane, and also kept them from driving home last night, so I went to Blockbuster to pick up some movies. Ain't no Blockbuster like a Houston Blockerbuster.

A young mother was browsing with her freakishly portly husband when she noticed the The Ten Commandments musical. "Val Kilmer as Moses? I don't think anyone who played that Doors guy should ever play a Bible person." I guess no one informed her about Prince of Egypt.

Another couple in their 50's was browsing the new release wall and came across Pan's Labyrinth. "Ugh," she said, "That's the movie Sarah wanted us to buy her. It looks satanic." Strangely enough, 10 minutes later, they had it at the checkout, but when the clerk informed her it was in spanish with subtitles, she scoffed and carried it away like a rancid diaper.

So happy these people are making babies.
