[touch the dial] 6:46 PM

When I work I like to have the TV on, and when, for some unknown fluke, there isn't a Law & Order playing somewhere I have to improvise. itunes and network streaming make improvising a lot easier, so allow me to make to recommendations:

The Agency
on VH1 is about the behind-the-scenes goings on at Wilhelmina in New York. Its not a contest and its not all about pretty people, its about the agents (most of them loud-mouthed). I delightfully stark and low-key, and its better than VH1 deserves.

I also just watched the pilot for Men in Trees (on abc.com's crystal clear new media player) and I gotta say it fills part of the void left by Sex and the City. True its on hiatus at the moment (for the eye-gouging October Road), but its been renewed for a second season and rightfully belongs after Ugly Betty and Grey's.

In fact, you should watch Betty, turn to CSI, then hop over to Trees for a perfect Thursday night. Save the shark-jumping Grey's for friday.
