[the future is now] 10:28 PM

2 weeks is a long time to away from home, and 4 cities and 2 states is quite a lot to pack into that time. I was going to write up a little thing about my travels, but I got sidetracked today. I become oddly emotional and mesmerized watching Nancy Pelosi get sworn in as the Speaker of the House.

But yes, 2 weeks is a long time to be away, and an awful long time to take a break from drawing. My mind never really stops, and I feel like my doodle hibernation will prove valuable in the coming weeks. Today I painted this:

sherlock
Sherlock
9x12, acrylic and ink on paper

I'm really pleased with it. I'd go so far as to call him the first Noggin 2.0

Boy pointed out that odd-numbered years tended to be good for him. Being the geek that I am, my mind immediately went to the Even-Numbered-Star Trek-films-are-the-best train of thought. I hope he's right though, I hope 2007 is a very good year.

I hope your holiday was restful, or at least appeared to be restful, and that you're all set to conquer a new year.

Weirdly enough, I just mentioned to a friend of mine the other day that odd years are better for me as well.

In all honesty, I'm pretty glad that 2006 has been kicked to the curb.
