August 30, 2006[pilot round-up: Justice] 9:04 AMI have a pile of pilot's I still haven't watched, and now they've started to premiere. Oh well. Tonight's best new offering is Justice on Fox, which quite literally is CSI + House + Law & Order with some touches of an E! True Hollywood Story. Victor Garber shines as Fox's newest "acerbic genius you love to hate," and Kerr Smith can actually play a grown up. In the end I think the show will baffle me much like all other procedurals I watch. I'll figure out the pattern, know where all the beats are, yet still be compelled to watch. For this reason House baffles me, but we can chalk 70% of that addiction up to Hugh Laurie. Justice might not be the smartest new show, its certainly no Eyes, but if you want Bruckheimer psuedo-fluff, this is the best kind. It stretches convention in the good way (unlike Bones and its stupid hologram thing), and how can you not like a show that plays techno music when the law firm (TNT&G) goes to use the xerox machine? I thought it was terrible to the max. Bad acting, bad writing. It's a poorly put together cliche. Posted by: Josh at August 31, 2006 11:55 AMPost A Comment
