August 28, 2006[one year] 11:28 PMSo how did we spend our one year anniversary? Well, after Boy pulled his back during kickboxing he spent most of the evening splayed across the couch hopped up on a pain pill watching Miss Congenialty 2: Armed and Fabulous. I made mac'n'cheese, bought a dozen roses, sour patch kids (his favorite next to lemonheads), and sat through Transporter 2, which was actually enjoyable. He said, "I'm sorry this is how we're spending our anniversary." It's true, happiness is a big comfy couch and someone to sit next to. Later in the evening I went to a bar and scored some pills to ease the pain.* * I had Jason bring some of his surgery left-overs to help Boy get through the night before the doctor tomorrow Comments
it has been my experience (extensive experience) that non-descript, unidentifiable pills are often the best. Posted by: Matt! at August 29, 2006 6:21 AMSounds like an awesome anni. :) Congrats, guys. Posted by: Josh at August 29, 2006 10:52 AMKickboxing. Car racing. What's next? Skydiving? You must have married an action hero. Or a stuntman. Posted by: John at August 30, 2006 6:49 AMbungee jumping, yes. skydiving, no. what do you think I am, crazy? Posted by: Boy at August 30, 2006 8:12 AMCongrats on the one year-ness! I agree wholeheartedly: your anniversary is YOUR day, and you should spend it just being a happy couple (well, maybe minus the back pain) and acknowledging your love. Nothing beats candy, comfy couches, and mac'n'cheese. For our 3 year, Stephen and I lounged around the house in our PJs all day and went for dinner at a little Italian place around the corner, made plans for Year Four, and had some wine. No serenades, planes writing things in the sky, or people jumping out of cakes. Posted by: Jason at August 31, 2006 5:23 PMPost A Comment
