We arrived thursday night for Boy's brother's wedding (technically an elaborate renewal of vows ... a long story made short by the term "green card"). The ceremony was in Estes Park at the Stanley Hotel, which was the inspiration for Stephen King's The Shining. He wrote quite a bit of the book there, and it's also where they filmed the ABC mini-series (the one with Weber and the awful kid). The hotel itself was beautiful (and rightfully haunted). Our friends Todd and Laurie actually stayed in room 217, and claim to have a had a mild ghostly encounter involving children rattling their door at night. We're now in Denver ... which is not the gorgeous and secluded Stanley Hotel. We fly out sunday afternoon. Unfortunately The Shining left an indelible mark on my psyche which may force me to stay at a nearby hotel instead  On the creepy scale, how does it rank?
