[whodunnit] 5:40 PM

Thanks to the magic of the internet I'm keeping up to speed with the (new) second season of Doctor Who.

I watched the first series (now airing on SciFi Channel) last year, and thought it was ok, finally making breakaway speed at episode six ("The Empty Child"). The season finished strong after that, but season two - season two has been freaking stellar.

The episode I just watched ("The Impossible Planet") freaking terrified me, and its a kids show (or arguably, an all-ages show). Indeed, the Who I just watched was like Event Horizon, Jr. only, unlike American TV, it didn't pull any punches. Damn. Creepy.

Worth a look if you're missing some good sci-fi in your life.

Hey Kyle- Glad that you are in tune with the wonder of WHO. You're right- it keeps getting better and better, and "The Impossible Planet" was indeed of cinematic blockbuster proportions- both in the scares and in the SFX. I think we finally got our Sci-Fi right. Well- it's made by a practically all-gay team so, you know, it couldn't fail, right?? lol
