A few weeks ago I was waiting for a meeting at the House of Mouse. The House of Mouse, unlike its peers, has a very corportate (and muy secure) office. Once you sign into security downstairs, get a sticker, and take the elevator upstairs, you must then dial a phone and await a personal escourt inside. Indeed, one tends to feel like young Sydney Bristow at the Credit Dauphine building.

So as I'm waiting for my contact, so is another man, pacing quite impatiently. He complains aloud, but not to me, just to the air. He's getting increasingly upset, and finally he picks up the courtesy phone and leaves a heated voice-mail regarding the Hanna Montana pilot.

Hanna Montanta is Disney's attempt at Duff 2.0, the (hopeful) next Lizzie Maguire, a scripted series about a girl leading a double life: normal high schooler by day and tween singing sensation by night.

Hanna Montanta? Oh yes, the title alone is rife for ribbing.

It wasn't until last night that my "angry Hanna Montana man" story finally reached a conclusion. The angry man pacing around the Mouse lobby? The one who so gruffly barked into a courtesty phone? The one who said Hanna Montana with a straight face? The man so uppity in flannel?

i caught about five minutes of a bizarre show which i think was airing on the pax network the other day starring b.r.c. as a cardiac surgeon or some such. it was (not surprisingly) totally, amusingly, awful. almost camp, but not quite. and now hanna montana! i guess he's becoming quite the hollywood player.
