3 things that have happened in the last three days:
one
I put my mother on an airplane back to Texas. I loved her visit. Enjoyed it greatly. It was a wonderfully causual affair, and I did requisite mom things: shopping, buying kitchenware, watching Oprah (with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw no less, which lead to a Mom/McGraw overshare), watching the Olympics in HD, and drinking Corona. I also got her hooked on Project Runway (we're Dan Fans). Boy and Mom got along wonderfully together, which took away an ulcer. She still doesn't believe he's 30, and she's not sure what to call him (some models of MOM can't say the word "boyfriend"), but they had fun.

I got a wrong-number call. Apparently, someone at a bar gave this poor simple-sounding girl my number, called her a "rock star," and said that I/him promised to be her "sugardaddy." It was hysterical, pitiful, and scary all at the same time. She didn't seem to want to accept that she had the wrong phone number, and has since called my phone 14 times.

I made pot roast! From scratch!
Making pot roast is a zen experience. You are more enlightened for this effort!
And, let alone a perfect reason to make garlic mashed potatoes...
