I woke up this morning to an email informing me that one of my childhood friends had committed suicide.

I keep having flashbacks to our childhood, when we would play in his backyard talking about the movies we'd make one day. I remember taking acting classes after school with him, and being jealous when he got the lead in the play. I remember his mother making a british breakfast after a birthday sleepover, and me not wanting to eat any of it. His laugh was one of the most distinctive I've ever known.

I had been under the impression that he'd moved back to Houston from LA, but upon some site searches I see that he split his time between Texas and California, acting and doing comedy where he could.

I found his friendster page. Do they exist forever? Can a friend petition to have it removed, or would someone want it to carry on? Can you make it a tribute?

I have no idea, but then, I have no idea about so many things.
