I used to mildly entertain the "1 in 10" theory about the gay population in America, but after watching the American Idol auditions I think that number is significantly higher.
And I have to say that the insane percentage represented on AI are a nasty, delusional, retaliatory lot.
Not more than an hour before reading your brilliantly insightful post, my roommate and I were discussing the fact that American Idol is probably responsible for passage of at least half of the Defense Against Marriage Constitutional Amendments across the nation.
Don't forget the bi-population. Or perhaps the population of heteros include a higher percentage of introverts who won't embarass themselves on television (while sober)
