[my ladyfriends] ^{3:37 PM}

It may indeed be a horrible picture of myself, but nevertheless it is a photo of my mother, sister, and both grandmothers. In a bar.

This was the night I gave my aunt her first martini, the night one grandmother told me she could "chug-a-lug eggnog," and the night I was told about my grandfather's still when he lived overseas. "We have pictures of it somewhere," my mother said, "180 proof. That'll teach you how to drink."

It's a wonder I wasn't born with the ability to breathe fire.
