October 3, 2005[LOL & Grace] 2:47 PMEven though it hasn't produced a great half-hour in over a season (and if we exclude Candice Bergen's guest episode, years) I was quite curious to see how Will & Grace pulled off it's live season premiere (a much more logical live event than, oh, say, ER). I tracked down both the East Coast and West Coast feed (2 seperate tapings) and found that while the episode itself was amusing (maybe it should be live more often?) the real joy was seeing how nobody could contain their giggles in either taping, Debra Messing and Sean Hayes being the cheif offenders. They got snagged at the same scenes in each episode, and made for rewind-worthy television. If you can get the episode, and if you can pick between the two, I'd get the West Coast feed. The audience was more into it, and in turn it fed everything and Shelly Morrison doesn't completely flub her one joke. NBC really should consider making the show live ... oh ... wait ... NBC really should've considered making the show live before it clunked into it's final season. Comments
I too was curious to see how Will and Grace would pull of a live show, but I must say that I was not all that impressed. I have only been able to see the East Coast version so far but I am trying to get my hands on a copy of the West Coast version so I will be interested to compare the two. i really bust up laughing. was trying to determine if the the marker eyebrow gag was in the script or something they put in for those cheap "unscripted" laughs.
