Being a huge advocate of on-demand and downloadable programming, I downloaded an episode of LOST off the new itunes 6.0 last night to check it out.

It's a large download, which is comforting, and while the default load size is tiny (in the lower left corner of itunes 6.0 - where album art pops up on music tracks), it can be practically trippled in size and is still completely watchable as an "m4v" file. Trippling in size adds minimal pixelation (almost as if you were watching a quicktime file from 3 years ago), and of course it boasts an excellent audio transfer.

I think it's interesting that LOST and Nightstalker are among ABC's first 2 shows (not so much LOST, as it's a behemoth), they're just so visual and visceral in their total enjoyment. If you miss a LOST one night, download it the next day, what are the odds you're going to catch the hidden treasures that make the show obsessive viewing? If I download a Nightstalker and watch it tiny at 8am, is there a chance I'm going to be spooked?

Shows in the vein of Desperate Housewives and Boston Legal (since we're talking ABC) are ideal for the player, since at times they can be the equivilent of radio dramas - perfect for the airplane or a long commute on Metro, where brief glances at the screen can keep you visually up to speed while your ears get maximum pleasure.

Of course, if we're talking about faux-radio dramas, then the obvious choices would be West Wing and Gilmore Girls, because I can just listen to them talk for hours.

I've found adobe photoshop offered for very low price at http://www.software-cheap.net but they sell it without the box and manual. Just want to know what's there so special in the manual taking in account that i've been working with photoshop?
recomendations?
