One wonders if Escape from New Orleans was ever an option in John Carpenter's mind.

I'm becoming equal parts fascinated and horrified at America's first land of exile. Aquagangs? Corpses lining the street? Crazy people living in flooded homes?

It's the aquagangs that really get me, though. The geniuses that shoot at National Guard troops and aid workers, the people who loot electronics stores - is there even a working power outlet in New Orleans right now? Soon I imagine they'll be tricking out their flatboats and starring in Float and the Furious.

People are sometimes driven by forcres one cannot explain, but these new orleans people are mad.....mad I tell you.
