[DC vu] 5:38 PM

To say that it's peculiar to be back in DC would be an understatement.

I set out today to meet John and Chrisafer for lunch at CPK, a former monday tradition, and as I got on the metro I had a strange flashback sensation that re-occurred as I waited outside John's office, and then again when I make the trek to Georgetown from Dupont.

While in Gtown I did some special shopping, and then took a tour of the US News & World Report offices with Houston, which was nice. They still use Quark. And OS9. Which is freakish, but there were valid reasons (which should quickly become invalid).

Tonight I'm going to Backroads, which is the new little brother of Taint, and to some DCist parties while TiVo dutifully records the season premiere of Lost.

It's strange, having three sets of autopilot. Without much thought at all I can get around Houston, DC, and LA, yet oddly enough Houston feels less and less like home. I love my parent's and my friends, but the more and more I go back there the more and more I want to get out. I'm over texas. I'm not even sure if I'm going home for Christmas. Texas is now reserved for graduations, babies, and weddings. I want people to come visit me.

I've been assured this is all part of growing up.
