August 28, 2005[hillbillies] 1:25 PMThere's something seriously inverted about LA (well, lots of things, but just this one right now). You would think that people in the Hills, whose homes have decimals in the prices, would be snobby, but it's quite the opposite. Hill people are super-nice, and friendly and chatty. Almost like suburbia before 9/11, Halloween, and The DaVinci Code. Meanwhile, the people down on the flat land are standoffish, snobby, and emotionally disconnected. Y'know, like suburbia now. amen to that... having moved here a year ago from alabama (for a non-industry job), i'm still intrigued by the the diverse mentalities in l.a... i sometimes wonder if some of those in the "flat land" have read too many self help books teaching "think it to be it" or have bought into their over-inflated egos... and from those i've met, i think folk in the hills are happy to be out of the rat race but sometimes feel disconnected and long for genuine people to interact with... great posts, and i really dig the artwork... keep it up and best of luck... Don't you mean "commas", Ky? :) Posted by: Jason at August 28, 2005 9:26 PMi think he's speaking in terms of homes costing 7.4 million dollars or 2.6 million dollars etc... because i'd assume even the price of a mobile home would have a comma in it. : ) Posted by: andrew at August 28, 2005 10:24 PMAhhh...
