July 5, 2005[the gayest week ever] 6:59 PMI didn't do anything for Pride, I didn't do anything for the Fourth, but in the year of Kyle, this proves to be the Gayest Week Ever. It began sunday with my life-altering experience at Wicked and concludes this friday with Stephen Sondheim's 75th: The Concert at the Hollywood Bowl. While I'm not the biggest Sondheim fan of all time (I wanted to claw my eyes out during a horrendous production of Sweeney Todd and mocked West Side Story for a week in high school), I am excited to see quite a few of my Total Legends in person. The Roster: Jason Alexander, James Barbour, Carol Burnett, Len Cariou, Barbara Cook, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Jason Danieley, Alexander Gemignani, Josh Groban, Anne Hathaway, Angela Lansbury, Marin Mazzie, Eric McCormack, Audra McDonald, Bernadette Peters, Elaine Stritch, Jubilant Sykes, Vanessa Williams, Adam Wylie. Dude, I'm going to get to see Carol Burnett, Angela Landsbury and Elaine Stritch on stage. I think if I make a trip to the Parlour and Tigerheat, I may indeed turn pink. Comments
I heart Cabot Cove! Posted by: Benverhausen at July 5, 2005 9:43 PMYeah, we didn't celebrate Pride here, either. I went for brunch w/ Grant, Lola, and Adrian while Stephen worked all day. Ah well... Happy Gay Apathy! (I still tell everyone about your Pride experience @ college in TX, with all of the silly boys semi-permanently painted gold.) Congrats on meeting your idols! Posted by: Jason at July 5, 2005 9:50 PMI just saw Wicked a week ago, and I was blown away by the chemistry between Elphaba and Glinda's actresses. How'd you feel about Fiyero's actor? I thought he was a tad weak. Amazing musical, though. Posted by: Michael at July 5, 2005 10:23 PMchris = jealous. Posted by: chris at July 6, 2005 12:52 AMI truly believe Kermit said it best "It ain't easy being Green", of course he was talking skin, and I'm talking jealousy. I personally thought the whole reason to watch Ella Enchanted was to see Anne Hathaway sing. On top of that you get Bernadette Peters, Carol Burnett, Eric McCormack, and Vanessa Williams. I think the Bowl is gonna exploded with the maximum density of Gayness there on Friday. Posted by: Fred at July 6, 2005 2:12 AMYou realize that Angela Lansbury will most likely be reprising the role that she defined in.... Sweeney Todd. Posted by: sleepy kev at July 6, 2005 7:36 PMshhh. i know, but i'll pretend she's a twisted teapot... Posted by: kyle at July 7, 2005 12:36 AMyou mocked West Side Story? You're dead to me.
