July 19, 2005[grand theft bloggery] 4:42 PMThanks to the sluething of UK Matty and a Spriteboy, it seems a theif is among us. Not even so much a theif, but a supreme poser, who's taken direct text and images from spriteboy's blog, and my own. Superduper plagerism is afoot. "Her" post (posted 4/10) and My original post (posted 4/08) "Her" post (posted 12/03) and My original post (posted 12/02) "Her" post (posted 3/26) and My original post (posted 3/21) "Her" post (posted 3/03) and My original post (posted 3/02) "Her" post (posted 2/26) and My original post (posted 2/23) I like how (with the exception of the last one) she even kept the entry titles the same. Her tackiest moment, however, is when she wrote about a friend's Grandmother passing away, which was actually written by Chris. She even had the balls to post photos he took from the funeral. I think everyone should go to her blog and praise her for the amazing life she's leading, and let her girlfriend know too, since she's apparently enamoured with "her" prose. Comments
wow. that is some effed up shit Posted by: jaime at July 19, 2005 5:40 PMNewsweek does a small column about what's new with blogs. I think they should be alerted of this situation....they could write an article about blog plagiarism, and pair it with an article about psychopaths. Posted by: Liz at July 19, 2005 5:54 PMomg, thats mad chaisty! Posted by: thuan at July 19, 2005 6:20 PMher myspace profile says she "truly value[s] honesty"... Posted by: b at July 19, 2005 7:19 PMGrrr... the blog disappeared before I could go see it!! Posted by: Jason at July 19, 2005 9:06 PMmatty and i are wondering now if it was a self deletion, or if Chris's emails to blogger resulted in it being taken down. good riddence. Posted by: kyle at July 19, 2005 9:41 PMAll true. And really, if I wanted to read what she posted, I could just go through yours & Chris's archives anyways. Some people, I tells ya. Posted by: Jason at July 19, 2005 11:34 PMYeah, this happens more, I guess, than a lot of people realize. My friend Danny O had his entire blog plagiarized by somebody, who promptly took it down once the cat was out of the bag. It's pretty sad that people can't come up with their own thoughts and feelings and have to hijack those of other people in order to feel some sort of catharsis or connection with others. Posted by: sleepy kev at July 19, 2005 11:49 PMi'm really somewhat freaked out that with only a minor word tweak i can be transformed into a lesbian... Posted by: kyle at July 19, 2005 11:51 PMwell, it looks like she got the message. It seems the posts no longer exist. That's disappointing... I think that is how rumors get started. By the way, I got the lovely painting and have it hanging next to my computer, thanks again. Posted by: homer at July 20, 2005 2:00 PMI just make sure my blog posts are too boring to be copied. Posted by: John at July 20, 2005 2:32 PMHer blog is gone, but her Flickr account still seems to be working. Posted by: ben at July 20, 2005 2:41 PMSCANDALOUS! Posted by: MegMc at July 21, 2005 12:15 AMI think we need a campagne to bring back Okemo. Who knows what silly adventures she'll find herself in next week?...oh...Kyle might...
