[emmy roundup] 4:25 PM

The fact that this morning Will & Grace snagged an Emmy nomination makes me wonder exactly what episode NBC submitted to voters — or if voters just got confused by a third season rerun on TV and thought "hey, that Karen Walker sure is funny!"

Happiness is three Housewives fighting for lead actress, Hugh Laurie, Arrested Development, Jeremy Piven getting a nod for Entourage and Lost snagging three major awards (best series and supporting actors for Terry O'Quinn and Naveen Andrews). Unexpected and oddly placed happiness is The 4400 for best miniseries (which is now a series...). Let us all note that Alan Alda got nominated and Jimmy Smits did not. Take this as a sign, John Wells. I'd like to see Mariska Hargitay and Glenn Close catfight. Angela Lansbury! Foster's got a nod for opening title music and design. But BSG only got 2 nominations for special effects, none from Mary McDonnell...sigh.

I need to eat.
