Before deciding if this is all ages, I have to ask one question...what's going on below the belt?

Actually, your style reminds me a little of a croos between Scott Morse and Paul Pope. Very cartoon, but also very distinct. Nice work.

mr. meeley, you aren't going to become a regular poster in the comments area are you? cuz you're really annoying and i was hoping that you would fade away.

Well, I was planning more to be a lurker. But since you don't want me posting, that only gives me even more reason to do so. So, thanks for giving me more reasons to post here.

The moral of this lesson? The more you try to push someone away, the harder they will push right back. ;)

Kyle, the piece is awesome. I didn’t comment before because I felt self conscious for just being some random person commenting on your blog.

You have a real talent for color. The gradual change in the background from red to black really gives a feeling for flames and brings me back to molten Mustafar. The red used for the lightsaber of the Sith apprentice is perfect. It’s the brightest red used which really captures my attention, not as much as the white though. It’s that center area of the weapon that captures my optics and my eyes trace it’s path up and down.

Darth Vader’s face made me smile. Not out of humor or cuteness, but at how well you portrayed some of former Jedi’s expression. I can’t help but remember this one scene on the burning planet, just after Anakin has thrown Padme to the side, that he’s screaming at Kenobi, his face somewhat turned down, rage emanating from his being. That’s what I see when I look at the face in the drawing.

I may be looking too hard, except that this is really what I noticed. I’m not an artist, history major actually, but I just wanted to say why I liked it. Keep posting your pieces, I love looking at them. :)

why do i get the feeling you're a repubican?

Posted by: blank at May 21, 2005 1:15 AM

Uh...who, Blank? James Meeley or I?

Posted by: Fabian at May 21, 2005 1:18 AM

hey blank, one of the reasons i took the time to write an addendum was so Meeleygate wouldn't reach annoying comment swarms ... i've tried to wipe up the gasoline, so please stop lighting matches and seeing where they take you.

discussion (and there's been a good one) is one thing...

Man, and here I was with this awesome comeback to slap "black" with. But, out of respect to Kyle (this is HIS blog, after all), I'll take the high road and let him handle the matter as he wants to. Besides, I think he did a good job of it, anyway. ;)
