While I have no doubt that my mother loves me and wanted to come and see me, I have a nagging suspicion that she wanted to see how I had my apartment set up, then change it.

It's true, the woman loves her some TLC and HGTV, and 4 days later I have essentially a new apartment, some new clothes and a fully stocked (almost over-flowing) fridge.

I bought a new stereo today, and while it's not surround sound, I'd forgotten how much I missed oomph when it came to my music and TV. The maiden voyage was the video for Kylie's Chocholate. When the bass kicked in, and I mean kicked, I wanted to just writhe around on the floor.

I'm not that worried about noise complaints. I have a punk guitarist, flutist, and piano player on my floor. Someone on the second floor (a courtyard setup) used to play Sinatra really loud, which I actually appreciated, but it seems they've switched over to Celine Dion.

In a perfect world the second floor would blare something, I would conter it, and the three musicians would join in.

That's in a perfect world though — the world where Phantom Menace was riveting, Aaron Sorkin never left West Wing, Lauren Graham has an Emmy, the sixth season Angel finale is airing in 12 days, and things like, y'know, personal freedom, aren't rights you need to fight for.

I love seeing pictures of your apartment and seeing all of the beautiful paintings just hanging on the wall. I don't know why, but it makes me happy.

I'm jealous of the 'Jack & Bobby' poster as well. I can think of nothing finer then to fall asleep every night under Matt Long.

you can snag LOST posters on abc.com (now a collector's item because it's got lil ian on it!), and the J&B was a lovely $6 purchase on the ebay.

it is a cozy lil place now, but from time to time i turn around and feel like i'm in a hotel...
