April 10, 2005[twentysomething] 1:53 PMThe verdict is in on the case of Grey's Anatomy vs. Boston Legal, and ABC is siding with the docs. The network announced Friday that it's keeping its new medical smash Grey's Anatomy on Sundays at 10 pm/ET through the end of the season. As a result, Boston Legal which was slated to reclaim the time slot at the end of the month will stay adjourned until fall. ABC president Stephen McPherson says Legal's five remaining episodes will be tacked on to next season's total, giving the network "the amazing luxury of bringing Boston Legal back with an unheard-of 27 original episodes." I hope there weren't any big plans for a Legal cliffhanger, but I'll look on the brightside at renewal (and check ouf Anatomy tp see what the fuss is about). 27 episodes of Boston Legal, 26 episodes of Lost (for this season) and a larger-than-usual order for Desperate Housewives next season. Something tells me ABC has moved it's network headquarters to a volcanic lair. Let's just hope the show's creative teams are up to a challenge I often think asking for 22 episodes is a lot of a creative team, which is why I fondly enjoy and don't complain about HBO's standard 12 or 13. I'm all for fewer reruns, but not at the expense of retarded storytelling. Also, last week House was No. 7 in the ratings. Who knew it was possible for me to like a show on Fox that was a success? Shows I currently love: Lost, Desperate Housewives, L&O SVU, Trail By Jury, Deadwood, Eyes, Gilmore Girls, House, Jack & Bobby and The Amazing Race. I've been hording this season's Arrested Development and The OC, so that come June Six Feet Under won't be my only summer viewing. Comments
