April 15, 2005[the soundtrack] 2:28 AMAs I began rating my music, I began to sort my favorites into lists. At first I had playlists for "College" (208 songs), "Highschool" (191 songs), and a larger catch-all I labeled "Twentysomething" (471 songs). As I began sifting, I realized that by writing 2-3 sentences per song I could effectively write an autobiography. Music plays a crucial role in my life, and each song that made one of the selective playlists elicited a very strong emotional response. I'm going to have to breakdown the "Twentysomething" category though. My "College" category really only houses songs from time spent at UNT (my freshman and sophomore years), so "Twentysomething" really spans 2001-2005. I can easily knock-it down to "Houston" "DC" and "LA," which I may do sometime later on. Thinking of what all "DC" would span boggles the mind alone. Two years in one place and it could be a book in and of itself. It should be pretty interesting to see what the results are when a story is laid out in song-associated chunks... On the Sly Metric (that means I'm thinking about you) Comments
