January 17, 2005[lost in transition] 2:55 AM![]() It's very odd, this being-out-of-school thing. People keep telling me how amazing it must be to be able to focus on art for a while, when really it's just bizarre. With the exception of the horrific finals period, I basically made time for my work, I did what I wanted to do, and never really felt hindered by school. I know you could go through my archives and call me a hypocrite with numerous postings, but I'm talking big picture here. I'm still without a 9 to 5(ish) job, and 60+ hours of built in school time is now absent from my life; trying to fill those hours has been an interesting feat. Sometimes my days are great, and sometimes they're filled with pulse-pounding boredom, but they're getting better as I'm adjusting. I've had a really great weekend, my first really good one I'd wager since moving, and having those weekends helps. Seeing different friends, talking to old friends, and making new ones. I'm a tad wonky, but at least everyone has the foresight to tell me that it's normal, and that for the most part I'm right on the post-graduate track. I feel your pain, my child. Nobody ever said growing up would be easy, but the important thing to remember is that God and America hates all of us homosexuals. Deny it all you want, It won't get any easier, but I'm too busy having sex with a lof of republicans to notice! Posted by: Theodore at January 17, 2005 3:39 AMHey...some of us twenty-somethings thought he was robbed too! Best moment of the DJ Sammy Set - I Believe in You. It took me several months after college to start feeling wierd about being out of school. Everything felt like one extremely long summer vacation for a while....then it snowed. Posted by: schitzo at January 17, 2005 10:47 AMi don't think he was robbed in 1998... but, this certainly makes up for 1993. that was by far an awesome performance! (i just found that out today) Posted by: brit at January 18, 2005 12:48 PMsaw scissor sisters in concert friday...amazing. but the point: kyle, I hope you write as much about the your adjustment as you possibly can. I've always wondered what people do once they don't have classes and homework to do.
